For today's spooky post, a poll:

Halloween, 1978

OR

Halloween, 2007

For me, it was the original because it was the first horror film that I was allowed to watch and it brings back the memories. I remember sitting at home with my mom and dad and a friend who'd come for a sleepover. We had to ask her parents if it was okay for her to watch the movie too. By the middle of the movie, I couldn't hold the popcorn bowl in my lap anymore, because I'd already spilled it once. Neither my friend or I could turn out the light at bed time that night...or for a long time afterward if I remember correctly.
Which did you like best? What other scary movies bring you closer to the Halloween spirit?

Oh, and click here to play Halloween Tic-Tac-Toe...if you dare ha ha ha. (Remember, I warned you, LOL)

I'm with you on the original Halloween. I used to watch all the Freddy Kruegger movies--the first one freaked me out as did the first Poltergeist movie (I can still hear that woman's tinny voice saying "Go to the light").

There are so many good and bad Halloween movies. Dracula. Nosferatu. Dark Shadows (both miniseries and the supposed one being made with Johnny Depp starring as Barnabus!!!). Werewolf movies.

Hmmm. I think you just put me in a mood for a scary movie fest.

I'm a real wuss. I don't watch scary movies. :)

Me no likey either movie. My hubby is a big horror guru, like even the really bad ones.

As a kid, poltergeist scared me.

My first scary movie though was Night of the Creeps... to this day, I sleep with the blanket's over my ears!

I love a number of werewolf movies (In the Company of Wolves is the best one ever!) :) So do my kids. Yes, the horror of horror's, they are allowed to watch horror movies, blame my hubby, not me. They've been brought up in a horror loving house. I don't scare anymore, they don't much either. That's how desensitized I am by them.

Shelley, don't worry about it. Scary's not for everyone. I can't watch the new horror movies--too much for me.

Tiff, you're like the horror guru here, what's your favorite? Or don't you even like them, but have to watch them because of your husband?

HAHA I tune them out, now. And I listed my fave werewolf one. It's like a retelling, in a scary way, of little red riding hood.

I never watched Halloween. Just hearing about how scary it was was too much for me.

My BFF and I went to see The Ring when we were 16. We left early and couldn't sleep the whole night. I went back with my dad and couldn't see what the big deal was. I suppose that I had made it so big in my head that it couldn't scare me...until the crazy looking chick crawled out of the TV!OMG! That was crazy! Any time I think of it I get chills.

Another scary movie was the Changeling with George C. Scott. That little red ball scared me to death.0_0

Great post!

Kelly, I never saw the Ring because I knew I couldn't stand it. Funny, I love reading horror and scary stuff, but I can't really watch it. Only the ones that I saw when I had an iron stomach when I was a kid. Back then I could watch anything. Don't know why I was so fearless.

I had terrible nightmares as a kid and yet my parents kept letting me watch this stuff. The Halloween movies, the Friday the 13th stuff, and all the Freddy Krueggers. Poor Johnny got sucked into that bed!

I'd have to go with the original just because it's, well, the original. And I can't watch the scary stuff today. Psychological thrillers - sometimes. But stuff like Saw and The Ring, ain't happening. LOL!

Ugh neither. Well, I would go original cause I don't really like the gore that Rob Zombie seems to enjoy.

I've never seen either of the Halloweens. I love the first Poltergeist. I still watch it whenever it's on. So freaky. Another one I watch whenever I can is An American Werewolf in London. That one's just so funny!

Dracula 2000 does it for me in two words -- Gerard Butler. LOL. Seriously, though, it's an interesting take on the Dracula tale.

Fun post!
