Christmas Party!!!

MY BOOK IS FINISHED!!

I'm so excited! I wrote the last words at roughly 1:30 am on December 17--which was the last of several very late nights for me, as I was determined that I would be finished in time to enjoy the Christmas holidays with my family.

I sweated blood and tears onto the page for this book, and I can't wait to make it shiny and perfect and send it out into the world so that one day I will be able to share it with all of you. These characters are so dear to me, it's a bittersweet delight to say goodbye to them--for now. Because seriously, there's a ton of editing to do still. --- All of which can wait for a little while as I rest and eat turkey and play with kiddo and snuggle with hubby in front of the television for a few nights.

Having said that, however, I do have some critiques to do, some work for my new editor at Ellora's Cave, and I'm behind on a few blogs...

But not now. Now we're going to have a CHRISTMAS PARTY!!

Everyone who comments on this post to tell me what they've asked Santa to bring for Christmas will be entered into my Contest for a cool basket filled with cool stuff, including a fabulous CD from singer Angela Scappatura whose voice is simply amazing! (Other treats include: Christmas goodies and great books!!) Contest will be open until Monday, at which time I'll post a winner.

Yay for your finishing! Congrats, J. K.!

I asked Santa for books, DVDs, earrings, and a bountiful supply of time and tenacity for 2010. I'd settle for just the latter.

Hi Janga! There's a long list of books that I want too, and I am hoping for a few of them, so I have something good to read while I relax over the holidays. As soon as Christmas is over, then I have to start editing and reading time goes way down again.

Time is so fleeting...

Maggie, nice to see you here!!

I love love love my ereader (Sony), and I couldn't have asked for a better present last year. I hope it's in your stocking!

But I'm glad you'll get a chance to see family, especially since you haven't seen your sister in so long. (I'm going to see my brother too, and he's been away for over a year--I'm excited!)

CONGRATULATIONS!!! That's fantastic news! :) I hope you and your family have a wonderful and relaxing Christmas.

I asked for so many random things from Santa. Tea, hot water bottles, a yogurt machine, etc. I'm really just excited to see my family and take time off from work.

And um, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Did I say that already?

Congratulations JK!
I was thinking you can relax and enjoy the holidays but your comments about critiquing and editing and other work means I now hope you are able to kick back for a few days at least.
Merry Christmas!

Steph, I love putting little things on the list because kiddo gets so excited wanting to buy me something I don't feel guilty asking for a strawberry banana lip gloss or a pack of cherry blasters :)

You have left me in your dust. ;)Congrats, Kris!

Hm, I'd ask Santa for more time, too. More energy, more sleep, less winter!

That light feeling you have right now is the feeling of accomplishment. Congrats!

mmm...I haven't asked for anything from my Santa in quite a few years, but I do have a very secret desire for a netbook.

It's too expensive, so I'm not going to mention it my Santa until it goes on sale.

Word verification: grope
Is this a Freudian suggestion for Santa? LOL

Well, I wasn't sure what to ask Santa for this year. It was a rough year - I lost my elderly cat and then my marriage fell apart. I think I miss the cat more (only kinda LOL). I realized that with neck and low back issues, I needed to move to a smaller place with fewer stairs, which I am doing in about 30 days. Moving means downsizing and that is generally my books. I hope for an ereader but I bet I don't get that quite yet since I would still have to fill that with books. So, I think I want Santa to bring me more spinal healing (already started with a chiropractor) and a peacefull 2010 in the emotional arena. One gift I've already gotten is reuniting with my (formerly) estranged family and getting to enjoy my nieces and my nephew. Another gift I have is that I'm still employed. Final gift is the kitten who joined my furry family in September.

Ms. Robinson, don't you worry about my dust, you are busy enough! (But I'm glad I finished before you at least once ha ha)

Maria, have you tried the netbook before? We bought one for my mother and father in law a few months ago because they wanted something small they could bring with them when they go to Mexico over the winter, but I tried it out for a few days to make sure everything was in working order and while it IS conveniently compact--it drove me NUTS! The keyboard is too small for me. I couldn't see myself actually typing anything on it and while I might eventually get used to it, it seemed more of a pain than anything else.

Congrats on finishing the book. I wish I was in the same place - I have about 20,000 words left to go on mine.

I'm asking Santa for a pink netbook, and I think Santa might just be agreeable!

Happy holidays. :)
