Happy Birthday...To ME!

Today is my birthday! What am I doing?

Urgh.

I'm going to work.

LOL, it's okay. But I still don't get why I am the one having to bring treats to the office. Shouldn't other people be bringing them for me?

Leave me a comment today to tell me what you did on your last birthday, and be entered to win a nice basket with lots of goodies...including a print copy of Dark Immortal!

Happy birthday to YOU!!!

Here we usually compensate for the birthday celebrant having to bring in treats by taking such celebrant out to lunch.

Chris! Hi!

That sounds like a great idea. You wanna come by and bring me to lunch? It shouldn't be too far, right?

Happy birthday!! Enjoy your day, despite the working.

I have to work on my b-day this year too and I'll be all by my lonesome since all my co-workers will be at a fiscal conference in Vancouver. I have to man the fort :D

On my last birthday my bookreading-friends and I had an amazingly delicious high tea where we talked about books all afternoon and stuffed our faces with scones, cupcakes, sandwiches and tea!

Happy Birthday J.K. and wishing you all the best today!
Love and best wishes,

PS - last year I was sick with a migraine so I didn't have a party but stayed in a dark room with a wet cloth over my eyes and a couple dozen (joke) pills. :)
Best bday was 21st. Surprise party.
:)

Pearl, your birthday tea sounds like the most amazing way to spend a birthday--here's to many more just like that :)

RKC Thanks for dropping in!
My 19th b-day was a great one. My first time out to the club to get wasted LOL

But honestly, every b-day gets better. I don't mind getting older in the least, especially since I know I'm exactly where I wanted to be in my life. I have a great hubby, family. I love my job. I LOVE LOVE LOVE writing, and I have amazing friends to celebrate with (both in person and online)

Happy Birthday! My last birthday was awhile ago, so I'm not even sure what I did, probably just dinner with my daughters. But at least it wasn't on Thanksgiving! (Yes, my birthday is in November and close enough that every so often, it falls on a certain holiday and I say, "Just stick a candle in the turkey and sing. Who needs cake after all that other food?")

Happy Birthday JK!!!!!

I hope you have an awesome day, even though you have to work!

My last birthday? Hmm...what did I do, it was only 21 days ago....

I saw Harry Potter!! lol As much as I love the idea of doing something awesome and celebrating my bday big, it never seems to happen.

Hope you have a great day! My last birthday I spent with friends at a mexican restaurant drinking margueritas and then we went out dancing.

Margay how are you!
I bet it's not such a big deal to have your birthday on a holiday these days, but as a kid you probably thought that sucked, didn't you?

My b-day usually falls on our Civic holiday as well, but it's not a "statutory" holiday, so it's not one of those big family days and I can usually focus on just me :)

Hi Sam! Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Tasha, how did you like HP? Since I haven't read the books (I know, OMG!) I thought it was great, but people have said that there was a lot of stuff missing (of course, with the length of the book I guess you can't include everything)

On your next b-day give me a call, and I'll come take you out!

Tetewa, sounds like you had a GREAT birthday, thanks so much for stopping in!

I loved it! This is the first time I didn't reread the book before going to see the movie, and I found that helped a lot! I know they cut a lot, but I think it still worked. It's interesting that they are making the last book into two movies!

Happy birthday, JK. I hope you have a great day despite having to work.

On my last birthday I went to the zoo to see the three tiger cubs and their mother. Very cute and full of mischief!

Sandy, stop doing that!

I hope you enjoyed your birthday! My birthday is during the holidays. I took an entire week off of work and used it to finish up getting ready. It was great to be completely finished and able to relax. Very lucky to since the weather turned very very bad and many people in the area didn't get finished for Christmas until the last minute.

I hope you had a great birthday! My birthday always falls on the May 2-4 weekend, so I get to spend it with my in-laws (yikes!), who take all the grandkids to the annual fishing derby in Varney. They love it :) Everyone else's birthday stories sounds awesome - especially the margarita's and Harry Potter!

Belated happy birthday wishes, J.K.!! Glad you had a terrific one! We just celebrated our sons' birthdays over the weekend with a party at a bouncy-house place :) (Nope, they don't have the same birthday, but we decided they could share a party this year--aren't we the meanies? ;p)

I think for my last birthday, my husband brought home a cake and we went out for sushi :)

Hope you had a Happy Birthday!
We have two August birthdays - my son and one of our daughters.

My last birthday (November) was spent at Salt Fork State Park Lodge in Cambridge, Ohio. It was fun but too cold to go hiking. When we returned home, my kids had a party for me. My daughter cooked dinner and of course, we had b-day cake.
